Truman’s Hump Day Song of the Week: Good Ol’ Boys

Two shows anchor my childhood television experience. The first is “The Love Boat,” which seems funnier than ever thanks to the occasional societal meltdowns that have afflicted luxury cruise liners over the past several years. I’m amazed Doc Bricker wasn’t fired for banging every other woman aboard the Pacific Princess. And who would’ve known Gopher – Fred Grandy – would have a career in Congress?

The second is “The Dukes of Hazzard.” When I was a kid, I thought I was Bo Duke and rolled around the block on my Big Wheel thinking it was the General Lee. Truman is too young to know who the hell these crazy in-breds are, but he recognizes a good thing when he hears it. So “Good Ol’ Boys” is this week’s Hump Day Song. God bless America – and Catherine Bach.

About Chairman Mao

I like fomenting socialist revolutions and purging my homeland of pseudo-intellectualism and capitalist dogma. I also like sports, dogs and food (although I wouldn't consider myself a foodie).
